Obituary of Leta M. Brabow
Leta M. Brabow, age 90, of Dundee, passed away Thursday morning, September 22, 2011 at her home.. She was born in Half-way Village (Eastpoint) Michigan December 4, 1920 the daughter of Andrew E. and Florence (Lambert) Brabow. She was raised on the east side of Detroit and graduated from Southeastern High School in 1939. She worked in the payroll department of the Carboloy Company, a division of General Electric in Detroit. She is a member of St. Irene Catholic Church in Dundee. Even though Leta was never married, she was especially close to her sister Lois’ children Carol (Calandra) Anderson and Joseph Calandra and their children whom she helped raise as her own. Her survivors include a sister Lois C. Calandra of Dundee; several nieces and nephews, grand nieces and grandnephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her niece Carol Anderson, brother Andrew Brabow, sister Gladys Ehele and infant siblings Richard and Margaret. Friends may call on Sunday from 2 – 8 P.M. at the Cover Funeral Home, 297 Tecumseh Street in Dundee (734-529-3156) She will lie in state on Monday, September 26, 2011 from 9:00 A.M. until a 10:00 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Irene Catholic Church in Dundee. Officiating will be Rev. Dr. Michael Woroniewicz pastor of the church. There will be a Rosary Prayer Service Sunday at 4:00 P.M. in the funeral home. Graveside services will be in the Sherman-Mesick Cemetery in Mesick, Wexford County, Michigan on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at 12:00 P.M.
