Obituary of Vincent Baker

Vincent LeRoy (Bob) Baker Jr. , 73, died at his home in Maybee under the care of his family and hospice on Thursday, April 7, 2011. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia June 17, 1937 to Vincent LeRoy Baker and Lucile Moore. Vinnie married the former Mary Catherine Harris January 29, 1956 at Wayne, Michigan. She passed away June 1`8, 2008. He was employed at the Ford Motor Company Woodhaven Plant until taking a medical retirement in 1982. He was a member of the London United Methodist Church, enjoyed hunting, crafts and was a former member of the Raisinville Wood Carvers making many wood carvings over the years. . Survivors include two daughters: Sherry Baker of Dundee and Diana Carol Abrams of Monroe; two sons David Townsend of Maybee and Robert (Lisa) Baker of Dundee, brother Richard Baker of Georgia; fifteen grandchildren, four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary, a daughter Barbara Ann Baker in 1996 and his parents . Memorials may be made to the family. Friends may call on Sunday from 1:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Cover Funeral Home, 297 Tecumseh Street in Dundee (734-529-3156) His funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Monday, April 11, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. Officiating will be Rev. Don Brown, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Dundee. Interment will follow immediately at London Cemetery in London Township.
