Obituary of Bobby Bridges

Bobby Jean Bridges was born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi on June 6, 1955. She was the daughter of Obey McGilvery and the late Betty Black. Bobby attended Adrian High School where she received her GED. Bobby supported her family as a Manufacturer for Marco Plastic for over 10 years. When she wasn't busy working she enjoyed going out on the weekends to play bingo and card games. Family was always very important to Bobby; she especially loved to watch movies with her grandkids while providing snacks and sweets for them. Bobby was famous for her Dorito Salad that she would make for family get-togethers. She was also known for her warm, accepting attitude towards everybody and earned the nickname "Sunshine." Bobby had a passion for sports; she played softball for years and watched College Football and NFL. She loved rooting for her favorite Detroit teams, the Tigers, Pistons, Wings, and Lions. Bobby enjoyed relaxing while watching her soap operas and game shows. Bobby Jean Bridges, age 57 of Monroe passed away on Monday, May 13, 2013 at Magnumcare of Monroe. She was preceded by her mother, Betty Black and a son, David Lee Bridges. To cherish her memory, she leaves behind two daughters: Pamela Haynes of Adrian and Tammie Bridges (Ty Fisher); three sisters: Debbie Johnson, Cassandra (James) Mae of Mississippi, and Veronica Evans; four brothers: Bernard (Melissa) Evans, Larry (Brana) Russell, and Milton Russell, all of Adrian, and Vernon Evans; ten grandchildren: LaShauna, Jasman, Ravien, Trayvond, Jsalissa, Jevel, Kamisha, Kamiah, Alexia, and Joshua; two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Friends may gather from 10:00am until 1:00pm, Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of Her Life will follow at 1:00pm, also at Merkle's. Reverend Russell Henagen of Second Baptist Church of Adrian will be officiating. Procession will follow to Roselawn Memorial Park for burial.
