Obituary of Frances Shaw
Please share a memory of Frances to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Frances Ethel Palanzo was born in Roanoke County, Virginia on October 6, 1927. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Palanzo and the late Mamie (Loomis) Palanzo. Frances moved from Roanoke, Virginia in 1945 to Monroe to be close to her family.
Frances married the love of her life, Willard Shaw, in Monroe on August 8, 1951. From this union came the birth of three children. She proudly took care of her home and three children as a homemaker.
Frances was nicknamed "Sassy" as a child and she lived up to it. She was always very family-oriented and loved to cook and bake for her family and friends. Frances relished family gatherings, holidays at the house, and any time she could spend with her grandchildren. In her quiet times, she took pleasure in writing poetry. She enjoyed watching sports and some of her favorite teams included the Detroit Pistons, the Detroit Tigers, and Dale Jarrett of the NASCAR racing series.
