I will be sharing your dad's memory aboard the U.S.A.T Dorchester at our annual 4 Chaplains Observance on February 9th, 2019 in Sanger, California. We would do well to honor your Dad's service on that fateful night and keep the memory of all of those who gave their lives that night. If I may, can I send pictures of our celebration observance to someone in your family after we complete the Honors of the 4 Chaplain Ceremony on February 9th, 2019? I believe that all Honors given on this Memorial Service observance are a critical means to keep these men and their sacrifice alive for the generations yet to come. Thank you all so very much for the photo video presentation you have shared here. I truly wish that I could have heard your dad share his story first hand. We have lost a great man and a part of our historical significance by his departure. but, as long as we keep this observance going forward, I believe that future generations will be blessed and encouraged to keep a watchful eye on our freedoms and our duties to preserve those liberties!

Deb, Barry, Julie, Denise and all the family and friends, my condolences & prayers for you all on Big Bills passing. So many fond memories of dinners at the house, golfing, watching and bantering about the Lions & Tigers, Indians & Browns. Always had a smile and so easy to get a laugh out of, Bill was a great man and will be missed.

From the very first time I heard the account of the sinking of the USAT Dorchester, it lit a spark in my soul that continually leads me to honor the service and sacrifice of all who wear the uniforms of our Armed Forces. I am so very appreciative of William's service and survival. May his memory continue to be a blessing to all ... family, friends, and all who learn of the service and sacrifice of the Four Chaplains. May you all find comfort in your blessed memories.

What an honor it is for me to add our condolences to the memory of such a great man as Mr. Bunkelman. I've known him most of my life and have been friends with all his children, but to finally say goodbye is difficult. I trust God has a special place in His great Heaven for soldiers like Bill.
