Obituary of Edna Easter
Please share a memory of Edna to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Edna Marie Easter was born in Mount Airy, North Carolina on September 2, 1926. She was one of nine children from the union of the late Andrew Woodruff and Bessie (Coe) Woodruff. Edna attended Mount Airy High School and eventually moved to the Monroe area with her family in the 1950's.
Edna cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. Cooking for her friends and family was so enjoyable that she made her living as a cook for eleven years at the Frenchtown Senior Citizens' Center.
Edna had a servant's heart with a strong faith in the Lord. Her religion was important to her as she attended Bible Study regularly and shared inspirational verses with others. Edna was outgoing and was involved with several ministries. People were often drawn to her positive attitude and strong spirit.
In her leisure time, Edna enjoyed gardening, reading, sewing, and embraced time spent with her family.
Edna Marie Easter, age 86 of Monroe, went home to be with the Lord on April 20, 2013 at Fountain View of Monroe. In addition to her parents, her passing was preceded by a son-in-law: Bill Napier; a sister: Dorothy Lawrence; two brother-in-laws: Walter Lawrence and Golie Southern.
To cherish her memory she leaves behind three daughters: Bonnie Napier, Sarah (Donald) Haynes, and Dr. Sandra (Jim) Coffman; three sons: Phil (Judy) Easter, Michael (Monica) Easter, and Tony (Linda) Easter; six sisters: Betty Southern, Ann Lee (Leroy) Paige, Mary Ruth (James) Cooper, Sandra (James) Byrd, Norma (Archie) Haynes and Retha (Roby) Quesenberry; one brother: Frank Woodruff; nine grandchildren: Beth (Larry) Easter, Phillip Easter, Jonathon (Carrie) Easter-Felisiak, Nicole (Bart) Fannin, John (Barb) Easter, Amanda Napier, Michael Haynes, Holly Haynes, and Cala Coffman; and six great-grandchildren: Briana, Kylie, Zaylie, Zayden, Jordan, and Niko.
