Obituary of Betty Lou Williams

Please share a memory of Betty to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Betty Lou Williams was born on March 15, 1930 in Monroe, Michigan. She was one of four children born from the union of the late Thomas C. Puckett and the late Ruth F. (Butler) Puckett.

In her younger years, Betty loved to camp. She truly enjoyed her Indian Heritage and often attended Pow Wows. Betty worked for twenty-two years as a support specialist for the credit bureau before working for the Monroe court system. For many years she owned and operated Our Place Restaurant before taking retirement in 1993. Betty went back to work for a short time to help at the Flower Garden at the Mall until 2010.

Betty was blessed with an extended family when she joined the Senior Center of Monroe. She looked forward to time spent around the social table; where she spent countless hours doing puzzles, sharing and conversating with the many friends she made there. She was very strong minded, yet she treated everyone she met with love and kindness, making it easy for her to make friends. She loved the cooks in the kitchen and enjoyed watching the guests that came in to perform.

Betty loved eating out and would often drive over fifty miles to go to a “good” restaurant. Amongst her favorites were Bob Evans and any place she could get her favorite drink: a French Vanilla Cappuccino. Betty liked to visit the local flea markets to see what goodies she could collect. She was a huge fan of Elvis and Betty Boop.

Betty Lou Williams, age 88, of Monroe, passed away at 5:20pm on Monday, August 13, 2018 at ProMedica Monroe Skilled Care and Rehab.
