Obituary of Eva "Claudine" Braden

Please share a memory of Eva "Claudine" to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Eva “Claudine” Bolton was born on November 11, 1933 in Corbin, Kentucky to the union of the late James Chris and the late Hulta Edna (Whitman) Bolton. She was a 1952 graduate of Hall High School.

On May 14, 1952, Claudine married the love of her life, Jesse Braden in Jonesville, Virginia.   From this marriage the couple was blessed with the birth of five children.

Claudine was a proud, Southern woman.   She was a devoted wife and mother that worked hard each day to care for the needs of her family.  For several years she enjoyed working outside the home with employment at Big Wheel and Meijer as well as becoming a Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant. Claudine was an excellent baker and cook.   Claudine held on to tradition by hosting Sunday Dinners for her family.   In her free time, you could find her enjoying the outdoors.   She proudly and painstakingly maintained several beautiful flower gardens at her home.

Eva Claudine Braden, age 84, of Monroe passed away at 10:55pm on Friday, June 8, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family.   She had been under the care of ProMedica Monroe Hospice. In addition to her parents, her passing was preceded by her loving husband of sixty-five years: Jesse Braden in February of 2017; a brother: Johnny Bolton; sisters: Christine Bennett and Wilma France; and a grandson: Christopher Lee.

To cherish her memory, she leaves her children: Gary Braden of Toledo, Denny (Lori) Braden of Temperance, Sonya Foreman of Monroe, Jeffrey Braden of Woodhaven, and Rodney Braden (Kimmy Brown) of Monroe; brothers: Glen (Della) Bolton of Harlan, Kentucky and James Bolton of Cawood, Kentucky; sister: Anna Lindsay of Rocky Top, Tennessee; twelve grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
