Obituary of Martin Lamont Bottorff

Please share a memory of Martin to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Martin Lamont Bottorff was born on July 30, 1949 in Detroit, Michigan. He was one of six children born from the union of the late Walter Edgar Bottorff and the late Inez (Luukkonen) Bottorff.   After high school, Martin enlisted in the United States Marine Corp and proudly served his country for four years during the Vietnam War.   He obtained the rank of Lance Corporal.

Martin married the former, Alice Elaine Lagg on December 11, 1977 in Detroit, and together they would raise four beautiful children. Martin never strayed from hard work and in fact proudly supported his family in manufacturing as a Machinist.   He was employed by Draw Tite for many years as well as the Bio-Fuel Plant in Milan.

Martin was extremely smart and very mechanically minded.   He was loyal and dependable and could always be counted on to lend a helping hand.   Martin also loved to cook and entertain.   He often opened his home to family and friends to share a meal.

Martin Lamont Bottorff, age 68, of Maybee passed away unexpectedly 3:10am on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at his home.   In addition to his parents, his passing was preceded by a brother: Arlen Bottorff and a sister:  Marla Vuocola.
