It's been just over a year Dad; and we still miss you and think of you often. Such a strong, guiding, loving light in my life, then in Our's. We hope you are in peace and having fun doing what you like to do; including spreading joy to all you encounter. We miss you , we love you, we think of you often. Thanks for being the constant guiding light for your whole family, as well as for the large circle of friends and acquaintances you have met on this earth. We all have been blessed just knowing you.

It has been a year since our Dad's passing. We think of him often and with great longing. I am still guided by his gentle ways when confronting some of life's challenges. Dad refused to give up when challenges seemed overwhelming and this "Strength of Character" has inspired us and we are trying our best to pass this "Virtue" on to even our grandchildren. His Love of Family was second to none. I miss doing projects with him and learning another one of his special tricks that help make easier work of the task at hand. He was a great teacher. I am still trying to master his speciality - Being Slow to Anger. Carrie and I talk about the emptiness we feel when our we think of his absence. This feeling of emptiness must be be secondary to what Mom, his wife of 60 plus years, must be going through. He left this world knowing "Mom" would be taken care of. Mom looks at his picture on her dresser and comments on what a good kind man he was. Her mind may not be what it once was but their Loving Bond was so powerful it breaks through with loving thoughts and old memories. Dad's body may be absent but his "Guiding Spirit" is ever present and we are thankful for this guiding beacon.

To the greatest man I've ever known. The memories of life growing up with you as my father will be in my heart forever. I learned so many things from you, patience, love, compassion, a sense of humor, and how to fix things :) You are loved by all of us. Your grandchildren feel blessed to have had you in their lives. They will have a heart filled with joy and wonderful memories. I love you with ever bit of my heart! Thank you dad for everything. I feel warm and blessed knowing that you are watching over us from heaven.

Dick was the Head Custodian when I was a brand new teacher at Mayfair School. He was very helpful to me and became a good friend. I was always impressed by his cheerful, kind and professional ways. He was a great guy and the world was a better place because of him. He will be sorely missed. Condolences from Jill and Chuck Davies.

The Book of James Chapter 2 Verse 24 states "You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone". Our Grandfather was a man of many works, which almost exclusively were to the benefit of those around him. He used his knowledge, skills, and sweat to help family and friends alike. This was never done for praise or adulation, but for fulfillment of the love he had in his heart. He put his faith into action everyday, forging an example of excellence that all those who knew and loved him must strive to reflect. The bar has been set, very high, now we must follow Grandpa's lead.

Husband, Father, Grandfather, Veteran, Friend. These are just a few words to describe Dick Beddoes. I knew him as a father to Ann and Grandfather to Tiffany & Kayla and considered him my Father and Friend. All of us should live our lives like him, unselfish in every regrad, willing to help anyone, any place and anytime. As we moved around relocating to New York, Virginia and Michigan, he was always there to help us add a shelving unit in the closet, build something for the girls or just do those odds and ends that I had no talent or patience to complete. I remember building the set of stairs at the cottage with his son Rick and me. They did all the work and I watched and tried to learn. Dick never stopped working until his body said enough is enough. He is a great man that I am honored to have known and I am sure he is in heaven right now with his pencil and pad of paper taking measurements to build a cabinet for St. Peter. God Bless Dick and my condolences to Ann and the family he has left behind. Love Mark

We all appreciate your constant display of kindness, love, devotion and affection. Through your example, we saw that life is all about the JOURNEY, not the destination. And you journed well Dad/Grandpa/Great Grandpa! Thank you so very, very much. With boundless love, we bid you adieu till we meet again!

Our hearts and prayers are with you at this most difficult time. We enjoyed visiting the "snow-birds" when they were in florida. Growing up as a kid uncle dick ("curly")got me out of more then one scrape, I wish we could have spent more time together in later years. As an uncle and a shipmate he will be dearly missed.
