Carl Robert Watson was born in Detroit, Michigan on February 10, 1950. Carl was an only child born from the union of the late Robert Watson and the late Zita (Hartings) Watson.
He was employed by the Ford motor Company for thirty years. He worked as a member of the assembly line and also as a welder. Carl retired in 2003.
He married the love of his life Mary Ingram on May 7, 1971. The family has made their home in the Carleton area the past fourteen years moving on their 26th wedding anniversary.
He enjoyed fishing, classic cars, and Piston Basketball. Carl was a member of St. Roch Catholic Church in Flat Rock.
Carl Robert Watson age 59 of Carleton passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at 10:44pm, at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. His passing was preceded by his parents.
Carl's memory will forever be cherished by his beloved wife of thirty-eight years: Mary of Carleton; a son: Phillip Watson of Carelton; a son: Thomas (Nicole) Watson of Dundee; and two granddogs: Lucy and Trixie.
Friends may gather from 2:00pm until 8:00pm, Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185 where a scripture service will take place at 4:00pm. He will lie in state from 9:30am until the Mass of the Resurrection at 10:00am on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at St. Roch Catholic Church, 25022 Gibraltar Road in Flat Rock. Procession will follow to St. Joseph Cemetery in Monroe for the final committal services.
