Diane Kowalczyk
September 8, 1946 - November 9, 2012
Diane Kowalczyk was born on September 8, 1946 in Hamtramck, Michigan. She was one of seven children born from the union of the late Michael Kozlowski and the late Rose (Brauer) Kozlowski. She grew up and attended high school in Detroit. In 1965 she married David Kowalczyk and from this union came the birth of three children.
For many years, Diane had worked odd jobs to help support the family, but more than anything she was a homemaker. She cherished the time that she spent with her family and later in life she absolutely adored her grandchildren. Diane loved music and she enjoyed dancing so much that she took lessons through the Arthur Murray School of Dance in Sterling Heights, Michigan. She enjoyed being around others and socializing, and another one of her favorite pastimes was cooking.
Diane Kowalczyk age 66 of Clinton Township passed away at 8:14am, Friday, November 9, 2012 at McLaren Macomb Hospital in Mount Clemons. In addition to her parents her passing was preceded by two brothers: Arthur Kozlowski and Bernard Kozlowski.
To cherish her memory she leaves a loving family including two daughters: Barbara (Gene) Zittrich of Sterling Heights, Michigan and Renee (David) Merkel of Monroe, Michigan; one son: John Kowalczyk of Tucson, Arizona; two sisters: Rose (Tom) King of Detroit, Michigan and Gertrude Pasciak of Roseville, Michigan; two brothers: George (Shirley) Kozlowski of Hamtramck, Michigan and Donald Kozlowski; ten beloved grandchildren: Heather, Tony, Jason, Megan, McKenzie, Austin, Olivia, Noah, Isaac, and Ben; and numerous nieces and nephews.
