Obituary of David Allen Coots
David Allen Coots, 66, of Monroe, Michigan and formerly of Lejunior, passed away on Saturday, August, 12, 2017, at the Promedica Monroe Regional Hospital in Monroe, Michigan following a long illness.
He was born on April 5, 1951, in Harlan County, Kentucy. David was a retired paper factory worker for Time Container and Forest Products and believed in the Church of God faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Estil and Della Coots; one sister, Bernice Coots Russell; two granddaughters, Heather Coots and Lisha Webb, and one nephew, Mike Lunsford.
Survivors include four children, Jason Coots, Shawn Coots, Pam Coots and Kristina Coots, all of Monroe, MI; five brothers, Matthew Coots and wife, Doris, Lejunior; Titus Coots, Verda; Timothy Coots and wife, Tina, Lejunior; Joel Coots and wife, Tammy, Lejunior; and Donnie Paul Coots, Lejunior; five sisters, Mattie Day and husband, Jerry, Lejunior; Maxine Lunsford, Dartmont; Evelyn Elliott and husband, Joe, Lejunior; Catherine Fleenor and husband, Lloyd, Lejunior; and Anita Taylor, Corbin. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, Robert Webb, Tyler Webb, Kayla Barton, Sabrina Barton, Alicia Evans, Mitchell Ellison, Matthew Coots, Caleigh Coots, Hayden Coots, Jace Coots, Hayle Coots, Taylor Coots, Brooklyn Coots, Makenzie Coots, Alyssa Coots and Catilin Coots; one great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 15 and Wednesday, August 16, 2017 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm each night at the Evarts Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, August 17, 2017, at 11:00 am in the Chapel of the Evarts Funeral Home with the Reverend James Sanders and Reverend Janice Fulkerson co-officiating. Merkle Funeral Service, South Monroe 14567 South Dixie Highway (734) 241-7070 assisted with Michigan arrangements.
Burial will follow in the Evarts Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
