Obituary of Robert Daly

Robert Edwin Daly was born in Veto, Alabama on June 2, 1925. He was the son of the late George Daly and the late Betty (Carter) Daly. He moved from Tennessee to Alabama in 1963, and soon found the love of his life the former Faye Johnson. They were joined together in marriage in 1965. For many years Robert worked as a delivery driver for Pepsi Cola and RC Cola. Robert loved the outdoors. He especially loved to go for long walks. Robert enjoyed yard work, cutting grass, and planting blooming plants. In September of 2004 his beloved wife Faye passed away and shortly thereafter, Robert moved to Monroe to be near his son. Robert appreciated the opportunity to draw closer to his family. He truly loved and cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren. Robert Edwin Daly age 87 of Monroe passed away at 4:10pm, Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Mercy Mercy Memorial Nursing Center. His passing was preceded by his parents and siblings. To cherish his memory Robert leaves a son: Ray J. and daughter-in-law: Theresa Leathery of Monroe; two grandchildren: Joni Long and Kelly Lynch; four great grandchildren: Sara Long, Wesley Lynch, Lakeisha Gipson, and Jayden Marshall; and one great-great grandson: Spencer Lynch. Friends may gather at 5:30pm on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 in the Eden Theatre on the Second Floor of Mercy Memorial Nursing Center, 700 Stewart Road for a Memorial Service. Sister Kate O'Brien chaplain of Mercy Memorial Hospice will be officiating. Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185 has been entrusted with his arrangements.
