Hannah Margaret (McDonald) Oblak was born on September 24, 1922 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. She was the oldest of eight children born from the union of the late John A. and Mary Ann (McGillvary) McDonald. Hannah was a devout Catholic; she received spiritual nourishment at St. Gregory's Catholic Church.
Hannah Margaret (McDonald) Oblak, age 92, of Livonia, passed away at Marycrest Manor in Livonia, Michigan, on Monday, March 23, 2015 at 9:39am, peacefully with her family by her side. In addition to her parents, her passing was preceded by one sister: Mary Henry; three brothers: Joseph, Edward and John McDonald; one son: John "Danny" Oblak; son-in-law: Pete Wilks; and her daughter-in-law: Carolyn Oblak.
To cherish her memory she leaves her daughter: Diane Wilks of Commerce Township, Michigan; her son: Michael (Natalie) Oblak of Livonia, Michigan; five grandchildren: John (Laurie) Oblak, Kimberly Tyler, Carie (Scott) Louderback, Kris (Ernie) Gerathy and Aaron Oblak; eight great-grandchildren: Jake, Luke, Corin, Alexis, Niko, Gage, Logan and Brooke; and her siblings: Margaret Manoogian, Audrey Veltri and Raymond (Diane) McDonald. She is also survived by her dear extended family the Rabidue's.
Friends may gather from 2:00pm-8:00pm on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 37000 Six Mile Road in Livonia, east of Newburgh. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 27, 2015 also at Harry J. Will Funeral Home at 11:00 am with Sister Judith Salzman officiating. Procession will follow to Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, in Southfield, Michigan for burial.
