Happy Birthday Dad. We miss you so much. I don't have alot of words right now, I'm very sad today because you are not here anymore. But I'm trying to take refuge in the fact that you get a view like no other in watching me become a great Dad, just like you were. I love you Papa!!!

Dave was my father-in-law, and although I had only known him for the past 6 years or so I could see the love he had for his family and those around him. Anytime we visited, he always made sure I was comfortable, giving me somewhere to sit or lay out in the sun :o) He was always so helpful and wanted to make people happy. I'm happy I was able to get to know him and see the relationship he and Ken had and how special that bond was. Dave will be deeply missed by his family and friends and many other people whose lives he touched.

My deepest sympathy go to Aunt Sue, Ken and John. Uncle Dave was a great man. Even though I only knew him for a short part of his life he was a great person and uncle to Brenden. He always called him his little buddy and I am glad that Brenden got to know his Uncle Dave. May he rest in peace.

at the Civil War Memorial dedication ceremony in Monroe. Odd we had never run into each other since I have known Don (and Dianne) and their family since we've lived in the area (28 years). Somehow David and I got to discussing the Duck Lake wildfire that was burning north of Newberry at the time. He asked if I knew the area well and I replied I did... He asked if I knew the area around Pine Stump Junction and Wolf Inn? I really chuckled at that question since my maternal grandparents owned and operated the "Stump" back in the 50s. And my paternal grandparents lived just south of Wolf Inn (the road to McMillan ended across the road from their home). He explained his family ties to Wolf Inn and the area. Then we had a short discussion that we were close to the same age so perhaps we had actually encountered each other when we were children visiting that area. As the ceremony was ongoing our discussion ended prematurely. I was really looking forward to having a longer discussion with him some day.

My dearest David . . . I know that you are now at peace and at home with our Lord. I will miss your laugh, your smile, but most of all, I will miss the man that I loved for so many years. You were such a wonderful part of my life and I thank God that you were. My love to you - - - Sue

Renee and I send deepest sympathies to Sue, Ken and John and all who knew and loved "Navy Davy." He loved you all so very much. We honor him for his great service to our country, our community, his family and our Chapter 142 of Vietnam Veterans of America, of which he was so proud to serve as a member and officer. I loved our friendship and will never forget him and all the good times we shared together.

Dad- I want to tell you how much I love you, and how badly we are going to miss you here on Earth. I have peace knowing that you came to know Jesus and accepted the Grace of God. You were such a good man, I will always remember the laughter, the good times, and the lessons and knowledge that you passed onto me. I selfishly wish you would've made it to Sarah's due date, I know how bad you wanted grandchildren. I am reassured however, that you will watch over Sarah and I, as well as your Grandson from Heaven. I love you Dad. I will see you again someday.
