Obituary of Cheryl Brewer

Cheryl Ann Brooks was born in Monroe, Michigan on November 23, 1950. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Gladys (Price) Brooks. Cheryl attended and was a graduate of Jefferson High School. She spent her entire life living in Monroe. She happily served the community for over 25 years employed by the Detroit Beach Pizzeria. Cheryl was a loving and caring mother to her three children. Courageous and strong. She was a woman who never gave up and always seemed to have a little fight in her. Cheryl was also a good and nurturing grandmother who loved her grandson very much. She also loved her cat's Sissy and Squirt. She was passionate about bingo, lottery and scratch off tickets. Going to garage sales, watching game shows and soap operas were some of her favorite pastimes. Cheryl Ann Brewer, age 61 of Monroe passed away at 8:19 am, Thursday, July 12, 2012 at Fountain View of Monroe. In addition to her parents, Charles and Gladys, her passing was preceded by her brother David. To cherish her memory she leaves a daughter: Becki (Tracy) Akers of Taylor; one son: Charles Owens of Monroe; nephew Gary Brooks of Monroe whom she raised as her own son; two brothers: Ricky Brooks of Missouri, Larry Brooks of Monroe; two sisters: Cindy Yoas of Monroe and Roxanne Brooks of Maryland and a grandson: Brendan. Friends may gather for a memorial service from 4:00pm until 7:00pm, Monday, July 16, 2012 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of Her Life will follow at 7:00pm.
