David "Bug" Lee Shinevarre
April 24, 1948 - July 10, 2012
David Lee Shinevarre was born on April 24, 1948 in Monroe, Michigan. He was the son of late John Shinevarre and the late Ethel (Gillenkirk) Shinevarre. Bug as he became known attended Monroe Public Schools.
David married the love of his life the former Brenda Lea Smith on September 29, 1973. From this union came the birth of three beloved children. For many years Bug supported his family performing maintenance tasks for Woodall and Green Lawn Grove.
David enjoyed bingo, hunting, and was an avid sports fan. He was especially a fan of the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions and University of Michigan football.
Most of all, David, enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was an excellent husband and father. He was a friendly person and others liked him.
David liked to live life his way. Although he sometimes questioned himself, David was truly an intelligent individual. He was "Mr. Fix It", and had the innate ability to fix everything.
David Lee Shinevarre age 64 of Monroe passed away at 7:48am, Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at his home. In addition to his parents his passing was preceded by a sister: Mary Lou.
To cherish his memory he leaves a beloved wife of thirty-eight years: Brenda; two daughters: Holly (Caleb) Cranford and Amanda (Levit) Garcia; one son: David (Nikki) Shinevarre; ten grandchildren: Kimberly, Tommy, Levit, Skylar, Isaiah, Kaytlyn, Austin, Dylan, Avery, Mikaela; three brothers: Larry, Frank, and Bob; and one sister: Bonnie.
Friends may gather from 2:00pm until 8:00pm, Friday, July 13, 2012 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of His Life will be at 11:00am, Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Merkle's with Reverend Dale Hayford pastor of Crosswalk Community Church officiating. Procession will follow to Roselawn Memorial Park in LaSalle for burial.
