Larry Francis DuVall
August 9, 1941 - July 1, 2012
Larry Francis DuVall was born in Monroe on August 9, 1941. He was the son of the late Norman DuVall and the late Marjorie (Zinner) DuVall. He attended Monroe High School graduating in 1959.
Larry married the former Janet E. Hutchison at St. Mary's Parish in Monroe on January 27, 1962.
For more than forty years Larry worked as a machinist. He was employed at Detroit Stoker and Premier Industries buying in to ownership at Premier in 1982. Larry enjoyed the finer things in life and he wasn't afraid of working hard to earn them. He rarely missed a day of work.
Larry was an avid hunter and fisher, even making his own lures. He was a past member of the boat and gun clubs, and had enjoyed bowling in leagues for many years. In 1993 he purchased his retirement home in Crystal Falls, Michigan before retiring North in 1997, where he enjoyed visiting the casinos.
Larry loved to cook and created many of his own concoctions from watching the Food Network. He was also particularly fond of his bright yellow, 2011 Dodge Challenger SRT.
Larry age 70 of Crystal Falls formerly of Monroe passed away at 5:15am on Sunday, July 1, 2012. He had been under the care of his loving family and of Mercy Memorial Hospice. In addition to his parents his passing was preceded by his beloved wife: Janet on February 14, 2010 and a daughter: Jennifer DuVall.
To cherish his memory he leaves two daughters: Michelle (Rodney) Weisbecker and Lisa (Brian) Schmitz both of Monroe; one sister: Jo (James) Fargo of Luray, Virginia; two brothers: Norman (Antoinette "Toni") DuVall Jr. of Monroe, and Michael (Kathy) DuVall of Jackson, Michigan; and five grandchildren: Wesley (Erin) Schmitz of Marquette, Hillary Schmitz, Hannah Schmitz, Sydney Weisbecker, and Laura Sarchenko all of Monroe.
Friends may gather from 12:00-8:00pm, Friday, July 6, 2012 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of His Life will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, July 7, 2012 also at Merkle's with Pastor John Schinkle officiating. Procession will follow to Roselawn Memorial Park for burial.
