Donna Sue Gibbons was born in Alva, Kentucky on April 3, 1952. She was the daughter of the late Charles William Gibbons and Mabel June (Cornelius) Gibbons. At a young age Donna moved to Monroe where she attended Lincoln Grade School and then Monroe High School.
She married the love of her life Donald Nisley Jr. in Monroe, Michigan on December 7, 1985.
When able, Donna enjoyed attending the Eagles Nest Community Church. Donna was a very family oriented individual. She loved to spoil her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed planning all types of celebrations including birthdays and holidays. Donna also liked to take long walks and go for relaxing bicycle rides. She always looked forward to the freedom of a motorcycle ride with her beloved Donald. Her own yard was also a relaxing oasis as she enjoyed the beauty of the flowers that Donald planted each year.
For many years, Donna worked as a servant to others. She worked as an Activities Director for Beach Nursing Home, and then for more than fifteen years she was employed by Laprad Home Care in Monroe as a Home Care Nurse.
Donna Sue Nisley age 60 of Monroe passed away peacefully in her home of natural causes at 3:51am, Saturday, June 30, 2012. Her passing in addition to her father was preceded by an infant son and a nephew: Matthew Charles Preadmore.
To cherish her memory she leaves a beloved husband: Donald Nisley Jr. of Monroe; three children: Thaddeus Turner, Kimberly (Dave) Rush, and Donald Nisley III all of Monroe; four grandchildren: Thad Turner Jr., Chad Turner, Meegan Turner, and Riley Turner; four sisters: Patricia (Gary) McBride, Bonnie (Dennis) Smock, Jannie (Ronnie) Gibson, and Debra (Mike) Fix all of Monroe.
Friends may gather from 2:00pm until 8:00pm, Monday, July 2, 2012 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of Her Life will be held at 11:00am, Tuesday, July 3, 2012 also at Merkle's. Cremation will follow through Southern Michigan Services in Livonia, Michigan.
