Jack Edward Kirkland was born on December 23, 1930 in Lothair, Kentucky. He is one of three children born from the union of the late George N. Kirkland and the late Carrie (Denton) Kirkland. Jack was a 1949 graduate of Monroe High School.

From this union would come the birth of two children.     He supported his family as a senior subrogation specialist at Motorist Mutual Insurance for thirty-five years, retiring in 1992.

Jack was generous and loved giving back to various programs such as the Bingo program at the Lutheran Home, Humane Society, Monroe Special Olympics and his church. He enjoyed socializing at Men’s Coffee at the church and playing cards at the Euchre Club in Frenchtown.  He had a passion for playing golf and was proud of his Hole in One Award Trophy in 2001.
