Roman Andre Jackson
July 27, 1981 - June 10, 2012
Roman Andre Jackson was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 27, 1981. He was the son of the late Ricky Martinez and Janice (Goree) Jackson-Austin. Roman moved to the Monroe area from Chicago at the age of twelve. He attended Monroe Schools and obtained his GED.
For many years Roman worked as a Cook for local restaurants. Roman had received his spiritual nourishment from attending the Al Overstreet Evangelistic Ministries.
Roman loved listening to music. He was also an avid sports fan. He loved to play basketball and as a youth had enjoyed pickup games at the Chicago Field House. Roman had also been a past member of the Boys Club. He had a great sense of humor, and enjoyed joking with others. Roman liked to tease with his children most of all. He always looked forward to family visits back in Chicago. Roman was a nice, respectful, young man he was a pleasure to be around.
Roman Andre Jackson age 30 of Monroe passed away Sunday, June 10, 2012 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo. In addition to his father his passing was preceded by a beloved daughter: Adriana Amiyah Jackson on May 7, 2010.
To cherish his memory he leaves his mother: Janice Jackson-Austin of Monroe; his step-father: Dwight Austin; two daughters: Autumn Jackson of Kentucky and Jasmine Jackson of Chicago; two sons: Jayceon Jackson of Kentucky and Roman Jackson of Monroe; four sisters: Charlotte Key of New York, Michele Jackson of Chicago, Regina Jackson of Las Vegas, and Yolando (Maurice) Britt of Arizona; two brothers: Michael (Tonya) Jackson of Chicago and Nolan Jackson of Las Vegas; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends; and three very special people: Thomas Key, Thomese Key, and Alexis Jackson
Friends may gather from 2:00pm until 8:00pm Friday, June 15, 2012 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of His Life will take place at 11:00am Saturday, June 16, 2012 also at Merkle's. The Reverend Alfred Overstreet will officiate. Cremation will follow.
