This is a purse I made for my granny when I was 11 years old. She always had a passion for designer handbags and at school we were having a home economics banquet. Our assignment was to make something special for someone special. So, I invited my granny and made her a handbag. At the time she carried Liz Claiborne purses so I decided to make her a "Kim Claiborne" purse. The tag says the one and only original Kim Claiborne To C Patterson From K Braun priced at $675. She loved this so much that she has bragged about it for the past 24 years. I took pictures of it because it was her wish to have it with her forever and always. We buried it with her 2 weeks ago Friday. I will never see it again but age will always have it with her. I love you granny. Your wish is my command. Oh how I miss you!!! I posted a picture of the purse for everyone to enjoy!!

Granny I know you can’t read this but I really need you to know how much you mean to me. You lead by your example You find strength when there was none You stand by all that you believe And you stay when most would run You march to your own drummer And you're faithful to your heart You've made the hard decisions That would tear the rest of us apart You could've crumbled from the pressure When life broke your heart in two Instead you fought with all your might Until your skies returned to blue A modest soul you'll always have Without your accolades in tow You claim you're nothing special But you're wrong you're my Hero You struggle like we all do Through this experience called life Yet your grace and your tenacity Inspire me to rise above the strife Like a Phoenix you have risen From the ashes and the flames You've stood up even when You had to take the blame Your life has not been easy But somehow you made it through You'll always be my hero And I'm awfully proud of you. Granny I miss you so badly. I feel a piece of me is empty. You loved me unconditionally, the good, the bad, and the downright ugly. You were my rock. I could always count on you to listen and tell me what you really thought, whether I liked it or not. I love you so much and I am so lost knowing that I can’t hold you in my arms, joke with you, and cry with you, or just simply watch you sleep. It’s these little things in life that we take for granted everyday and I regret that. However, I harbor absolutely no guilt, I know that you knew how much I loved you and I showed you every day!!! I am sorry I took your corn away from you Granny!!! I just want you back so badly. You held this family together and without you I’m afraid we may all start to drift apart. If you are looking down on us from heaven please make sure we all stay as close as possible because when it comes down to it family is all we ever really have. Friends and lovers come and go but a family is a family and we are supposed to be there for each other forever. I love you with every ounce of my being and miss you even more. Say hi to Grandpa Ed, Grandma Rosie, and Grandpa Martin for me. Love to you all. Love forever and always- Your Favorite grandchild---Kimmy Sue

I had lived a few doors away and grew up with Billy, Roxie, Dennis and Patty. I had spent a lot of time at their home and Mrs. Patterson, as we were brought up to say, had always treated me like one of her own. I remember when she asked my parents if I could go with them on vacation to Kansas. I had such a good time and whatever she bought her kids, she would also buy for me. There were a lot of times when she would come home from work and take us to LaFiesta for tacos or she would bring tacos home after work if I was spending the night. It has been many years since I have seen all of you and have enjoyed the pictures that you have posted. Deepest sympathy to all of the family. Best regards, Vicki

She thought the world of all of you( Bill, Roxanne, Patty, Dennis, and Gennie). I could tell she was such a proud Mother and Grandmother. Aunt Charline always had such a big heart.I will miss her deeply, but I know she is still watching over all of you and her love will continue to be with us. Dear Charline, I am so very sad that I am not there to say goodbye to you or as Gennie would say "see ya" as she never liked to say "goodbye." I just feel totally blessed that you were a part of my life for so long and gave me the greatest gift, your loving daughter and my best friend, Gennie. You were always there for us, laughing at our silly antics for so many years and then there to see us grow into women with daughters of our own. You were a remarkable woman, a wonderful mother, sister, aunt, friend, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and second mother to me, so I know your celebration of life is going to be breath-taking because you were so loved by many! May your soul be at peace now and may the awesome Lord take good care of you until we meet again...Love, Robin

Growing up I always heard so many stories about Aunt Charline. Being blessed to live out in California close to Aunt Grace, Uncle Frenchie, Joe, and Grandma Ochs I grew up hearing so much. Occassionally as a child I talked to her on the phone but I have been so blessed to have been able to cultivate a very special relationship with Aunt Charline as an adult. Since Grandma Sahlfeld's death I have talked with Aunt Charline often on the phone. My relationship with Aunt Charline has grown and I've discovered what many have known forever, what a wonderful, caring, self-less, loving person she is. Just as I could with my grandmother, I could talk about anything with Aunt Charline and she always amazed me. Aunt Charline became the link I was missing in my life. She was an amazing woman and I will miss her so. But I know she is looking down on us from above and can just imagine her take on everything. What an amazing woman. I was so blessed that God gave me the chance to get to know my Great Aunt Charline. (yes she is my great-aunt, but she was great in every since of the word) Billy, Dennis, Roxanne, Patty, Gennie and all your families, we will be praying for you. We know that the loss your family feels at this moment is huge, but like you I find solice in the fact that Aunt Charline is in heaven with the saints and angels and all her family who has gone there before her. I can't imagine the celebration!!! May God bless you all always and thank you so much for sharing a little bit of your mother/grandmother/great-grandmother with me and my family. She means more to me then you will ever know. God bless you always.

My Aunt Charline was a remarkable woman. She meant the world to me. Part of me thought (hoped) she'd be with us forever. She'll forever be in my heart. I am so happy I was able to visit with her for a few days the week before she died. I was able to tell her how much she meant to me and how I treasured the role she played in my life. I will always remember the smile she gave me and the words of love we exchanged as I left her for the last time. I wish to tell my cousins, her children, how lucky they were to have her in their lives. I think they already know! Much love to them and heartfelt wishes of comfort to them at this time.

My Mother......My friend.......My Best Friend!!! What a special lady she was and will remain in my heart. My Mom had such a passion for living that she faught the good fight. She taught me in life that you never give up and you reach for your dreams. She was such a selfless person....she gave of herself until she had no more to give. Family was what was most important to her - she loved being surrounded by the people she loved most. That is what made her Happy!! I would not be the person I am today without her guidance and giving spirit. I am priviledged to have called her Mother. Today, I say "goodbye" to her here on earth, however, I look forward to the day we meet again in Heaven and share in a triumphant celebration before our God.
