Brian William LaFountain
February 21, 1964 - May 21, 2012
Brian William LaFountain was born in Monroe, Michigan on February 21, 1964. He was one of four children the son of Samuel W. LaFountain and Mary (Gornick) Wanca. Brian was a 1982 graduate of Airport High School. He married the love of his life Darlinda Fowler on February 14, 1994 in Toledo, Ohio.
For the past fifteen years, Brian, supported his family as an Engineer employed at Top Line Products.
Brian was an avid outdoorsman. He especially liked traveling "Up North" to his cabin, and loved hunting morel mushrooms. Brian cherished the time he spent with his family and he enjoyed riding dirt bikes with his children, and his motorcycles meant the world to him.
Brian had a passion for cooking, and he truly would have loved to be a chef. He was a hardworking man, a great husband, a wonderful father, and a beloved son and brother. Brian was a sports fanatic who particularly liked the Detroit Tigers, the Detroit Lions, and the University of Michigan sports teams. He had a great sense of humor and loved to make others laugh.
Brian William LaFountain age 48 of Samaria, passed away peacefully with his family at his side at 9:00am, Monday, May 21, 2012 at Flower Hospital in Toledo. His passing was preceded by his grandparents: Michael and Florence Gornick and Elmer and Florence LaFountain.
To cherish his memory, Brian leaves behind his cherished wife: Darlinda LaFountain of Samaria; his children: Aaron LaFountain of Monroe and Tayler LaFountain of Samaria; his mother and stepfather: Mary (Larry) Wanca of Newport; his father: Samuel LaFountain of Newport; two sisters: Susan (Chris) Veitch of Temperance and Jackie (Mike) Purvins of Marysville; a brother: Donnie (Christine) LaFountain of Rockwood; and his beloved companion: Daisy.
Friends may gather from 6:00pm until 7:00pm Saturday May 26, 2012 at Monroe Missionary Baptist Church 14260 South Dixie Highway (734) 241-6860. A Memorial Service will follow at 7:00pm with Pastor Kenny Spain, Associate Pastor of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church officiating. Cremation has taken place through Southern Michigan Services in Livonia.
