Obituary of Clara Neidermeier

Clara D. Neidermeier age 91, passed away Saturday evening of natural causes at her LaSalle home. She had been in declining health for six weeks. Clara Dusablon was born August 3, 1918 in Monroe, Michigan the oldest daughter of the late William Dusablon and the late Charlotte (Munch) Dusablon. She grew up in the Monroe area attending Monroe Schools and graduated in 1936 from Monroe High School. She married Art A. Neidermeier in 1939. Following her graduation from high school, Clara was employed by the Tax Office in the Monroe County Courthouse, and then worked for Monroe Bank and Trust. In 1941 Clara and Art moved to Battle Creek where she was employed as a bookkeeper. In 1945, they returned to LaSalle and started Neidermeier Farm Supply. Here she served as a bookkeeper and partner until 1954. They then formed Neidermeier Insurance Agency. Clara served once again as a bookkeeper and partner, and also as a General Agent until 1976. During this period Clara also supported her husband Art's position in the office of LaSalle Township Supervisor for many years. Clara was a longtime member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Clara leaves to cherish her memory three children: William Neidermeier of Terre Haute, Indiana, Henry (Ruth) Neidermeier of Lafayette, California, and Dawn Neidermeier Nail of Medina, Ohio; a brother: William (Chicki) Dusablon of Fullerton, California; a sister: Betty (Don) Wigman of Monroe; six grandchildren: Glenn (Diane) Neidermeier, Nicholas Neidermeier, Christopher Neidermeier, Stephen Neidermeier, Jose Neidermeier, and Ariel Neidermeier; and three great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, her passing was preceded by her husband: Art in 1992; a sister: June Johnson; and a son-in-law: Charles Nail in 2002. Friends may gather Wednesday, October 7, 2009 from 3:00pm until a Celebration of Her Life at 7:00pm, at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185.
