Obituary of Nancy Kay Baisch

Nancy Kay (Carey) Baisch October 9, 1942 – March 14, 2017 Nancy Kay Carey was born on October 9, 1942 in Monroe, Michigan. She was one of three children born from the union of John Carey and Wanita (Kelly) Carey. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1960 and then continued her studies at St. Paul Bible College in St Paul, Minnesota. On September 14, 1974, Nancy married the love of her life, Robert Baisch of Carleton, Michigan at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Monroe. For more than eighteen years, Nancy worked in the credit department for Sears Roebuck and Company at their Downtown Monroe location. After their moving locations she went to work for Standard Federal Savings and Loan and later worked as a Home Interiors consultant. Nancy had many varied interests. She loved cats and had provided a good home to several over the years; family genealogy, being a life member of the Monroe Boat Club Auxiliary; and collecting many collectibles including Hummels. Nancy Kay Baisch, age 74, of Monroe passed away at home peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, March 14, 2017. Her passing was preceded by both of her parents, a niece: Roxanne Murray, and a nephew: Jack Dunsmore. To cherish her memory, Nancy leaves her beloved husband of more than forty-two years: Robert Baisch of Monroe; two sisters: JoAnn Carey of Laguna Niguel, California and Mary (Thomas) Sakala of Lake Orion; a sister-in-law: Jeanette (Orville) Hensley of Monroe; two nieces: Tricia (Gil) Cagua; and Connie Dunsmore: four great nieces: Elliana Grace and Locklyn Reese of Chicago, Rebecca (Kyle Hodge) Kazimer, and Sarah Kazimer; two great-great nieces: Ryleigh and Shelby Kazimer. Friends may gather on Sunday, March 19, 2017 from 2:00pm until 7:00pm at Merkle Funeral Service; South Monroe, 14567 South Dixie Highway (734) 241-7070. A Celebration of Her Life will take place at 1:00pm on Monday, March 20, 2017 also at Merkle’s with Reverend Roy Southerland pastor of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church officiaiting. Procession will follow to Roselawn Memorial Park in LaSalle for burial. Memorial donations in Nancy’s honor are suggested to the Humane Society of Monroe or the Charity of Donor’s Choice.
