Obituary of Kathleen O'Neal

Kathleen Delores Worrell was born in Monroe, Michigan on October 14, 1933. She was one of fourteen children born from the union of the late Robert Clayton Worrell and the late Lena Belle (Burchett) Worrell. She attended Lincoln Elementary School. She married the love of her life Edward Michael O'Neal on March 19, 1955. Kathleen was a great homemaker to her husband and five children, and she stood alongside her husband as a pastors' wife for many years. Together they pastored the LaSalle Gospel Tabernacle with Brother Wing. Kathleen was an avid reader and she loved to cook. Her cooking creations were so delicious and amazing that her husband claimed they were borderline gourmet. Kathleen also enjoyed the fresh air and going for regular walks. She loved to sing and gospel music was always her only choice. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Kathleen Delores O'Neal age 78 of Monroe passed away at 12:25pm, Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at MagnumCare of Monroe. In addition to her parents her passing was preceded by eight siblings, and a son-in-law: Jack Allen. To cherish her memory she leaves a beloved husband of fifty-six years: Edward Michael O'Neal of Monroe; five children: Becky Sue (Dave) Wylie of Monroe, Jeffrey Kirk (Barbara) O'Neal of Monroe, Colleen Jane Allen of Monroe, Michael Wade O'Neal of Monroe, and Peggy Sue (Tom) Wylie of Monroe; ten grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; three brothers: Ricky, Jack, and Butch; and two sisters: Carol and Donna; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may gather from 3:00pm until 8:00pm on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of Her Life will take place at Merkle's on Friday, October 28, 2011 at 11:00am with the Rev. David Voss pastor of Petersburg Lower Light Church officiating. Procession will follow to Roselawn Memorial Park in LaSalle for cremation. Burial of her cremains will take place at Woodland Cemetery at a later date.
