Obituary of Mark Martin

Mark Martin was born December 10, 1959 in Pontiac, Michigan. Mark was one of five children born from the union of Melvin Martin and Rozelle Baker. Mark made his home with Nancy Wortinger Surviving Mark are his Parents, Nancy, daughter Taivia (Timashion) Jones of Detroit, Michigan and Nancy's daughter Jenifer Wortinger of Monroe, Michigan. Mark was also blessed with four wonderful grandchildren: Reggena, Brendan, Lauren, and Yoshua, and one granddaughter on the way. Also surviving Mark are his siblings: Cynthia and Curt Jenkins, Wanda and Keith Lee, Melvin and Carolyn Martin, and Stacy Martin, and a host of other relatives. He loved sports, Basketball, Landscaping, Fixing up his home and his grandchildren. After completing college, Mark went to work for the State of Michigan in the State Forensic Center. Mark Martin, age 49, of Monroe passed away peacefully at his home at 11:05am, Thursday, July 30, 2009 with his family by his side. Mark had been under the care of Heartland Hospice and Home Care. Friends may gather from 2:00pm-8:00pm on Monday, and Tuesday at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of His lIfe will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at the Christian Faith Ministries, 27500 Marquette in Garden City, Michigan. The family will receive friends after 10:30am. Procession will follow to Michigan Memorial Park in Flat Rock, Michigan for burial.
