Shirley Anna Palmer was born in Carleton, Michigan on December 15, 1938. She was one of eight children born from the union of the late Leonard C. Palmer and Emily A. (Eby) Palmer. Shirley attended the Longbridge one-room school house in Carleton. Shirley married the late Walter Jr. Turner on May 5, 1956 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Carleton. She blessed to stay at home to raise their five wonderful children who grew up to make her very proud. Shirley was very kind and had a sweet spirit about her. She lived for taking care of her children. Throughout the years she was a caretaker for many families and their children also. Shirley loved to cook, spend summers at their family cabin, go sightseeing & especially liked to play the “lottery”. In recent years she enjoyed going for walks at Sterling State Park. In her quiet time, Shirley enjoyed watching her favorite television shows, her aquarium, bird watching and her feline companion, “Nala.” Shirley loved spending quality time with her best friend & sister Liz.
