Tommy "2-Tone" Junior Jones
January 29, 1973 - September 18, 2011
Thomas Junior Jones was born in Detroit, Michigan on January 29, 1973. He was the only son born from the union of the late Espert Johnson and Theresa (Jones) Johnson.
For the past twenty years Tommy shared his life with Shavon Hudson. He had been employed by Ford Motor Company for the past eight years.
Thomas treated others fairly and in his eyes everyone was equal. He valued his family and community. Thomas was a proud father, a good brother, a great son, uncle, and friend. He was a loving, compassionate, kind, and beautiful man. Thomas was an excellent listener, he enjoyed the opportunity to help others, and was reliable to lend a helping hand whenever he was needed.
Thomas valued his health and enjoyed staying physically fit and playing sports. He also enjoyed challenging his mind and working on computers. Thomas had a passion for music and he used this towards a second occupation as a D.J. At an early age, Tommy joined the Spiritual Israel Church and Its Army in Milan, Michigan. He served under Bishop Allen Cox, as a dedicated member on the Deacon's Board and Usher's Board.
Thomas "Tommy/2-Tone" Junior Jones, age 38 of Monroe passed away at 7:17am, Sunday, September 18, 2011 at Mercy Memorial Hospital. His passing was preceded by his father: Espert.
To cherish his memory he leaves his soul mate: Shavon Hudson of Monroe; his mother: Theresa Jones; his mother-in-law, warmly referred to as his "other mother": Barbara Hudson; daughter: Kiah Jones; stepson: Deonte Canales; and son: Octavius Jones all of Monroe; siblings: Gathrell (Charlotte) Johnson of Georgia, Cynthia Johnson of Maybee, Inga Lee Johnson of Maybee, Marzette (Lisa) Johnson of Cleveland, Dorthea Buchanan of Georgia, and Gothrell Johnson of Maybee; and several nieces, nephews, and aunts, and his B-3 family
Friends may gather from 4:00pm until 8:00pm, Thursday, September 22, 2011 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185 where a Celebration of His Life will be held at 12:00pm, Friday, September 23, 2011. Pastor Janie Lathan will officiate. Procession will follow to Roselawn Memorial Park in LaSalle for burial.
