Obituary of Ruth Smalley

Ruth T. Smalley October 5, 1927 - July 7, 2007 "I am not here, ministering angels came for me and I crossed over Jordan into Jesus loving arms." Ruth T. Smalley of Temperance, Michigan age 79, passed from this life at 4:55pm Saturday in Toledo Hospital. Her devoted family was by her side. Her family will receive friends, Tuesday, July 10, 2007 from 2-8pm at the Calvary Bible Chapel on Alexis Road in Toledo, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Wednesday with Pastor Andy Hill of the church officiating. Entombment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Covenant Cremation and Funeral Society (734) 384-1038 was entrusted with arrangements. She was born October 5, 1927 to George and Anna (Strub) Gruber. She married Frank Smalley in Toledo, Ohio on January 1, 1946. He preceded her in death on August 20, 1997. Ruth was a homemaker. Ruth had been a devoted member of the Calvary Bible Chapel for the past thirty-six years. She enjoyed collating, folding bulletins every Thursday. Recently, she had joined the Bedford Senior Citizens. Her family will always remember her as a wonderful mother, and grandmother who loved to cook and bake for her family. She is survived by her three children: Cindy (Bernie) Gies, Colleen (Jerry) Pryor, and Al Smalley all of Temperance; siblings: Marian Williams of Temperance, Shirley (Richard "Knute) Hiszak of Erie, Kathy Terry of Toledo, and Geri Gruber of Pointe Place; eight grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
