Anita L. Rowe
January 1, 1937 - September 20, 2008
Anita Lucille Rowe, age 71, of Monroe passed away peacefully at 8:20am on Saturday, September 20, 2008 at Mercy Memorial Hospital.
Anita was born on January 1, 1937 in Monroe, Michigan to the union of the late Dorsey Robert Moore and the late Ora Victoria (McClure) Moore. Anita attended Monroe High School.
She had a true love for life. Spending quality time with her children and grandchildren were not just a part of Anita's life but a part of her responsibility. Anita was particularly fond of her grandchildren. Most recently, Anita had had the opportunity to spent countless hours with her daughter, Vicky, enthralled in the emotion of a good Soap (Opera).
Anita was as we say a "hands on" woman. She would always look forward to her next home improvement project. Doing simple repairs or major renovations were all part of the home owning experience. Her home improvement wasn't only limited to the house it also included maintaining a garden. She also enjoyed sewing.
For more than fifteen years, Anita worked for the Safeway Grocery Store. She worked as a Supervisor for many years.
She leaves to cherish her memory: a son: David G. Rowe of San Clemente, California; three daughters: Vicky L. Rowe of Monroe, Kathy D. Abbott and Pamela K. Johnson both of Yorba Linda, California; eight grandchildren: Benjamin I. Romero of Monroe, Amanda C. Pollitt of Hemet, California, Amber L. (Donald) Price and Dana M. (David) Duffy both of Queens Creek, Arizona, Jacob S. Rowe of San Diego, California, Jason D. Abbott, Tara D. Abbott, and Bryce D. Abbott all of Yorba Linda, California; three great grandchildren: Zachary Duffy, Letha Price, and Donald Price; and four long-time beloved friends: Ina Violette, Nancy Zwarka, and Nancy Roberts all of Monroe, and Doris Marshall of Anaheim, California. In addition to her parents her passing was preceded by a brother Gerald R. Moore.
Family and Friends will gather at 2:00pm on Friday, September 26, 2008 at Woodland Cemetery, Monroe for a graveside Celebration of Her Life. The Reverend John Jones pastor of the Church of God in Monroe will officiate. Interment in the cemetery next to her beloved brother will follow.
