Obituary of Ingrid Malinowski

Ingrid Malinowski April 27, 1940 - July 9, 2011 Ingrid Mollers was born in Zweibrucken, Germany on April 27, 1940. She was one of three children the daughter of the late Joseph Mollers and the late Gertrude (Selder) Mollers. Ingrid grew up and attended school in Germany. She married John S. Malinowski in March of 1964. Together the couple raised seven children. The young family moved to Port Huron, Michigan in 1972. Ingrid was a homemaker for many years and she ruled the home as the disciplinarian, although her children referred to her as a wonderful, loving mother. Later, together with her husband, John, she was an owner, operator, and driver for Metro Taxi in Detroit which provided taxi service to and from the Detroit Metropolitan Airport. For hobbies Ingrid enjoyed reading books, knitting, and crocheting in her free time. Later in life she appreciated the time that she spent with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Just their presence could light up her face. Ingrid Malinowski age 71 of Toledo passed away at 9:19pm, Saturday, July 9, 2011 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo. Her loving family was at her side. In addition to her parents and her beloved husband her passing was preceded by a son: John Malinowski Jr., and a daughter-in-law: Lore Malinowski. She leaves to cherish her memory six children: Peter (Paulette) Malinowski of Wyoming, Sylvia (Terrence Harvey) Guy of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Kathy Jo Chadwell of Tennessee, Steven (Teresa) Malinowski of Akron, Ohio, Susanna (Donald) DuVall of Monroe, and Debra (William) Koenecke of Monroe; a sister: Hanzie Mollers of Germany; a brother: Eugene Mollers of Germany; fifteen grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. Friends gathered on Sunday afternoon; July 10, 2011 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185 a funeral service followed at 7:00pm with Minister Steven Malinowski her son officiating. Cremation has followed. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Malinowski Family.
