Mark "Funt" K. Pifer
October 27, 1958 - June 21, 2011
Mark K. Pifer was born in Monroe, Michigan on October 27, 1958. He was the son of the late Raymond D. Pifer and Mary E. (Lazenby) Pifer. Mark was a graduate of Monroe High School
He married Sandy Shipp on April 8, 1993 at Grace Lutheran Church in Monroe. Mark worked for Modern Packaging for twenty years and had been employed at Meijer for the last ten years as a Stocker.
Mark had participated in the Red Noodle Pub Pool League for many years. Some would say he was a stubborn man, but Sandy commented that he was a wonderful husband. Mark loved hockey and was an avid Detroit Red Wing fan. He was a proud man and dedicated to the work that he did as a printer. Mark loved to work on engines and tinker with anything that needed fixing. He loved his music and all things electronic.
Mark K. Pifer age 52 of Monroe passed away at 9:15am, Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Arbors at Sylvania. In addition to his father his passing was preceded by a sister-in-law: Diane Pifer
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife: Sandy of Monroe; his mother: Mary Pifer of Monroe; three sisters: Pamela (Roy) Boylan of Illinois, Prudence (Paul) Fairchild of Monroe, and Holly (Jammie) Francisco of Monroe; three brothers: Patrick (Barb) Pifer of LaSalle, Michael Pifer of Monroe, and Matthew (Elizabeth) Pifer of Monroe; several nieces and nephews; and a step-son: Frederick Shipp of Toledo.
Friends may gather from 2:00pm until 7:00pm, Saturday, June 25, 2011 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of his Life will follow at 7:00pm with the Rev. Mark Witte, Associate Pastor of Grace Lutheran Church officiating.
