I recall a family cookout last summer in which Grandpa Jim was telling me about his health issues. He said that his hunting buddies had invited him up north in the fall, and that they just wanted him to come, they would take care of everything...getting him into and out of the woods, dragging his deer, etc. He really appreciated the offer, but just couldn't be that far from home in his current state of health. He told me his hunting days were done, but that he'd lived a good life...everything he had every wanted to do, he had done...and when his time was to come, he would have no regrets. Maybe we all be so fortunate as to live such a fulfilling life, and by loved by so many.

Cecil worked with Jim at GM Hydramatic Power Train many years and enjoyed his singing and will never forget when we went to hear him sing. We wish you peace and know he was a very special person. Peace, Cecil and Jo Ann Nisley

Dear Lila,Karen and Randy, I'm so sorry for your lose. Jim was a very good friend of Dads. He also was a friend of mine. I will miss him. I had the opportunity of working with him at GM Powertrain. He was always fun to be around and one of the best pipe fitters in the plant. My Condolences to you all and the grandchildren.

Jim and Lila were my adopted church family at Monroe Missionary Baptist Church from the time I first met them in 1992 and throughout my membership through 1997. Even then, after I moved to Toledo, both remained in contact with me and were still my family. I will always remember our meals at the downtown Big Boy and all of our talks and laughter. Both helped to make my church experience and my life in Monroe so much brighter. Especially the choir and special programs.
My world is so much richer because of Jim. He will be greatly missed.
Lila: I am so very sorry for your loss. My heart and prayers go out to you. Know that you are always in my heart, even though the years have caused us to drift apart.

Randy, My sincerest thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this time of loss. A father's passing is never easy and while I didn't know your dad, I can relate. Again, many blessings to you during this tough time. ......chuck
