Vernon Patrick Ushman
September 1, 1948 - February 24, 2011
Vernon Patrick Ushman was born in Springfield, Illinois on September 1, 1948. He was one of three children born from the union of the late John and Helen (Trigg) Ushman. Vernon served his country honorably as a member of the United States Navy as a Navy Seal during Vietnam. He graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Engineering from Purdue University.
For the past twelve years Vernon had been employed as an engineer by Midway Products Group. He worked hard investing countless hours into his tasks until recently taking a new position that allowed him more time to spend with his family. Vernon married his true love the former JoAnn Lipchik at the Elm Street Chapel on May 24, 2003.
Vernon was an avid golfer. He always looked forward to his next round, and had made many friends on the greens. He hated snow, even though he lived in Michigan, and he enjoyed traveling to warmer places and spending time near the water and at the beach. Although, Vernon was pretty well known for his stubbornness, his family loved him just the same, and he was extremely proud of them. Vernon also liked muscle cars, but more than anything he enjoyed quiet time at home in his La-Z-Boy.
