Obituary of Randy Redburn

Randy Lee Redburn July 7, 1947 - March 19, 2011 Randy Lee Redburn was born in East Lansing, Michigan on July 7, 1947. He was the son of the late Robert "Roy" and Margaret Veronica "Ronnie" (Fitzpatrick) Redburn. He attended Eastern High School and graduated with the Class of 1965. Randy married the former Brenda Lawson on October 16, 1984 in Toledo, Ohio. He worked as a heavy equipment operator his entire adult life, taking a medical retirement in 2004. Recently he had become a life member of the Local 324 where he was a member for forty years. Randy was best described as cranky, aggravating, and antagonistic. But, his unique personality was only part of his charm. He had a heart of gold, a great sense of humor, and often was able to make others laugh. Randy was proud of his children and grandchildren. His favorite companion, however, was Shabby Abby a beloved shih-tzu. He enjoyed the likes of antique cars, fishing, and as a young man spent quite a bit of time racing at Milan Dragway. Randy Lee Redburn age 63 of Monroe passed away at 5:32pm, Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Mercy Memorial Hospital from a heart attack suffered earlier in the day. In addition to his parents his passing was preceded by a granddaughter: McKayla Favreau; and two brothers: Robert and Mark Redburn. He leaves to cherish his memory a wife: Brenda "Beezer" of Monroe; five children: Randy Lee (Jackie) Redburn Jr. of Pontiac, Victoria Bausman of Monroe, Lisa Favreau of Monroe, Kevin (Kim) Redburn of Monroe, and Amy Redburn (Tom Ford) of Temperance; four sisters: Kathie (John) Thomas of East Lansing, Stephanie (Dick) Hundt of Arizona, Mary Ann Zakeya of Georgia, and Marcia (Luther) Clark of East Lansing; fifteen grandchildren: Carter, Parker, April, Karl Jr., Matthew, Kaitlyn, Emma, Evelyn, Courtney, Chloe, Tyler, Joshua, Brandon, Hunter, and Shane; and three great grandchildren: Lilly, Addison, and Austin. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185 was entrusted with his arrangements.
