Patricia Ann Shanteau
January 24, 1945 - May 25, 2008
Patricia Ann Shanteau, age 63, passed away Sunday; May 25, 2008 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center after a brief illness. Her loving family was at her side.
Patricia was born January 24, 1945 in Monroe, Michigan to the union of the late James Estep and the late Juanita (Jenkins) Estep. She had attended Lincoln School and participated in the choir there. Later she earned her high school diploma through the Jefferson Schools Adult Program.
Patricia had a passion for people and enjoyed interaction with others. Her grandchildren ranked among the highest on her list. She worked for the Mable Kehres Apartments in Monroe Township for the past thirteen years as a custodian before retiring in January of 2008. She took great pride in her occupation and knew the value of a job well done. Prior to the Mable Kehres Apartments, Patricia, had been employed for many years at the Holiday Inn in Monroe as a Hostess and Head Banquet Waitress. She also enjoyed playing cards and bingo.
She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter: Tari Ann Morrisette of Swartz Creek, Michigan; a son: Ronald A. Shanteau Jr. of Monroe; two sisters: Joy (Robert) Mathus of Monroe and Karen Lynch of East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania; three grandchildren: Jacob Scott Morrisette, Jordan Ann Morrisette, and Julie Ann Morrisette; five nieces and nephews: Eugene (Shirley) Mathus, Robert (Pam) Mathus, Dianna Redman, Dale Fetterly, and Lori (Monty) McDermith; many great nieces and nephews, two great-great nephews; and her beloved cat: Raza with whom she had a continued love/hate relationship. She was preceded in her passing by her father in 1974 and her mother in 1953.
Family and Friends may gather Tuesday; May 27, 2008 from 2pm until a Celebration of Her Life at 7pm at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street, Frenchtown Township, (734) 384-5185. Pastor Rick Massingill of the North Monroe Street Church of God; Mountain Assembly will officiate. Cremation will follow through Southern Michigan Services, Livonia.
Memorials are suggested to the North Monroe Street Church of God or to the Relay for Life.
