Randy Stephen Ridner Sr.
July 8, 1952 - October 27, 2010
Randy Stephen Ridner was born at Camp LeJune, North Carolina on July 8, 1952. He was the son of the late Herbert Hoover Ridner and Rita (Czarnik) Ridner. Randy attended Monroe High School.
In February of 1990 he met the love of his life: Priscilla Ray. They were joined in marriage on July 14, 1996 in Toledo, Ohio.
He worked for the North Star Steel Company for twelve years before taking a medical retirement. For more than twenty years he assisted his brother with residential construction as a laborer for ADR Builders.
He had attended the Victory Temple Church. He loved working and wrenching on cars and had taught his son Randy everything he knew. He enjoyed watching racing - especially when Randy drove and NASCAR. He loved the outdoors and hunting and fishing. He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.
Randy Stephen Ridner Sr. age 58 of Monroe passed away peacefully at 1:28pm, Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. In addition to his father his passing was preceded by a son: Toby at birth; his mother and father-in-law: Geneva and Ernest Ray Sr.; a daughter-in-law: Patricia Ridner; his best friend: Stanley Reece; and a nephew: Steve Ridner.
He leaves to cherish his memory a beloved wife: Priscilla of Monroe; six children: Randy Ridner Jr. and fiancé (Jeri Greca), Shelly Ridner, Angie (Steve) Yeary, Deaven Ridner and fiance (Daniel Garcia), Deanna Ridner and fiance (Jake Litton), and Danielle Ridner all of Monroe; three brothers: Alan (Shirley) Ridner of Monroe, Dwayne (Remonia) Ridner of St. Charles, Michigan, Larry Ridner of Monroe; one sister: Laurie (Donald Sr.) Molinatto of Florida; twelve grandchildren with one on the way: Toby, Jacob, Jayci, and Tiana Qassis, Alan, Casey, Cody, and Raelynn Ridner, Courtney St. Bernard, Chelsie, Chase, and Cassy Yeary; and one great grandchild on the way.
Friends may gather from 10:00am until 2:00pm; Monday, November 1, 2010 at Victory Temple Church, 832 South Roessler Street. A Celebration of His Life will follow at 2:00pm with the Rev. Gary Pickrell officiating. Procession will follow to Woodland Cemetery for burial. Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185 had been entrusted with his arrangements.
