Obituary of Dolores Dyer

Dolores Luella Dyer April 6, 1915 - November 5, 2010 Dolores Luella Nephew was born in Detroit, Michigan on April 6, 1915. Dolores was the daughter of the late Lewis Nephew and the late Emma Marie (Welcome) Nephew. She married Charles M. Dyer on September 29, 1945 in Detroit, Michigan. From this union came the birth of a son: Michael. Dolores was very proud of her family; her son, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. When she was younger she loved to travel and saw the country in her R.V. She liked to dance, and she was an avid bingo player. She worked for the Ford Motor Company as a comptometer operator. She had also worked part time as a waitress for several years. For many years she had lived in California and Arizona before moving back to Michigan to make her home near her son in Monroe. Dolores Luella Dyer age 95 of Monroe passed away at 6:30pm, Friday, November 5, 2010 at her home surrounded by her loving family. In addition to her parents her passing was preceded by her husband on December 6, 1983; and three sisters: Loretta, Eleanor, and Lorain. She leaves to cherish her memory a son: Michael (Carol) Dyer of Newport; three grandchildren: Elizabeth Maraldo of Newport, Candy (Timothy) Whitmarsh of Monroe, and David Dyer of Newport; great grandchildren: Megan Dyer, Tyler Telycenas, Katlyn Whitmarsh, Andrew Whitmarsh, and Kari Dyer; two great-great grandchildren: Arianna Belkofer and Danika Belkofer; a sister: Francis Moore of Pleasenten, CA; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may gather from 4:00pm until 9:00pm, Tuesday, November 10, 2010 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185 where a Celebration of Her Life will be held at 7:00pm with the Rev. Mark Raitz, Chaplain for Affinity Hospice officiating. Members of Berlin Township Volunteer Fire Department, Newport station will perform a walk through at 630pm during the gathering for Dolores Dyer. Cremation will follow the service November 12, 2010. Friends may gather at 11:00am, Friday, November 12, 2010 at Roselawn Memorial Park for inurnment of Dolores cremains at the Oaklawn Niche Feature. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute in Detroit.
