Obituary of Terry Davis

Terry Lee Davis was born in Monroe, Michigan on December 6, 1953. He was one of seven children born to the union of the late John Davis and the late Virgie (Prince) Davis. He attended Monroe High School.
Terry married the love of his life, Karen on August 12, 1972 in Monroe. From this union would come the birth of three beautiful daughters. Terry cherished his family. He loved the time that he was able to spend with his wife, children, and later grandchildren. He always strived for the best with his family; whether they liked it or not.
Terry was extremely proud of his family food wagon; although only in recent years do the girls remember it fondly. The family traveled to numerous fairs over the years serving treats to the public. Terry always gave free food to the children. He loved visiting auctions, and Up North Salmon fishing.
For more than thirty years, Terry had been a self-employed truck driver. Driving was his passion and he loved to travel the country behind the wheel of a big rig and see the sights.
Terry had attended the North Monroe Street Church of God, and his personal mission was to share the Lord with everyone.
Terry age 56 of Newport passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 while on a long haul in Jeffersonville, Ohio.
He leaves cherish his memory a wife of more than thirty-eight years: Karen of Newport; his three daughters: Carrie Davis of Newport, Melissa Davis of Monroe, and Heather Davis of Flat Rock; three sisters: Sonya M. Hibbs and Annettha Frank of Sacramento, California, and Barbara "Chris" Langland of Taylor, Michigan; three brothers: Johnny M. "Boe" Davis of Portland, Oregon, Thomas F. "Tom" (Marie) Davis of Monroe, and James R. "Bob" (Joy) Davis of Monroe; two grandchildren: Patrick Davis and Katie Durfee; twelve nieces; eight nephews, thirteen great nieces; and thirteen great nephews.
Friends may gather from 2:00pm until 8:00pm on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185 where a Celebration of His Life will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, September 2, 2010. The Rev. Rick Massingill pastor of the North Monroe Street Church of God will officiate. Procession will follow to Roselawn Memorial Park in LaSalle for burial.
