Neva Gail Holtz was born in Adams County, Wisconsin on March 18, 1932. She was the daughter of the late Leslie Holtz and the late Margaret (Femling) Holtz. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin.
She married the love of her life David Marceau on October 16, 1954 in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. From this union came the birth of two children.
For more than twenty years, Neva worked retail sales. For the past forty-seven years she had made her home in Monroe.
Neva was passionate about her Lutheran faith and was actively involved in her church and in Bible Study. She had been a member of Trinity Lutheran Church for many years. For the past five years Neva had been involved with the YMCA. Neva liked to travel. She loved visiting and spending time with her family. Neva enjoyed baking, and her bread was exceptionally scrumptious.
Neva Gail Marceau age 78 of Monroe passed away at 10:12am, Thursday, August 19, 2010 at Mercy Memorial Hospital. In addition to her parents her passing was preceded by her husband David in 2005; two brothers: Keith Holtz and Loyal Holtz; and an infant son: Douglas Marceau.
She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter: Pam (Brian) Manor of Monroe; three sisters: Lois Gellerman, Dorothy Berger, and Suzanne Flynn; three brothers: Victor Holtz, Gary Holtz, and Floyd Holtz; a sister-in-law: Bertha Holtz; two granddaughters: Stephanie Manor and Marissa Manor; and a grandson: Jarrett Manor.
Friends may gather from 2:00pm until 8:00pm, Friday, August 20, 2010 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. She will lie in state at Trinity Lutheran Church, 323 Scott Street (corner of Third and Scott) on Saturday, August 21, 2010 from 11:00am until a Celebration of Her Life at 12:00pm. The Rev. Bruce Crabtree pastor of the church will officiate. Procession will follow to St. Joseph Cemetery for entombment.
