Marvin Eugene Hoffmann, age 62, of Monroe, died Tuesday, March 20, 2007 in his home.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Covenant Cremation and Funeral Society of Monroe. Private family services will be held at a later date.
Mr. Hoffmann was born December 15, 1944, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, the son of Fred and Freda (Sticht) Hoffmann. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1963-1983 when he retired from the military, then served in the Fleet Reserve for 10 years. On August 5, 2000 he married Sandra Barnes (Feisel), who survives him.
Mr. Hoffmann had a Masters Degree in Business Administration and worked as a principal quality assurance engineer for Detroit Edison Fermi Power Plant until he retired in 2001. He was an avid golfer and loved to travel.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Hoffmann is survived by two daughters, Michelle Hoffmann and Elizabeth (Thomas) Zelmer of Raleigh, North Carolina; a stepdaughter, Heather E. (Allan) Bates of Holland, Ohio and a stepson, Rich L. (Amy) Barnes III of Temperance, Michigan; two brothers, Jerry Hoffmann of Cape Girardeau, MO and Terry (Louise) Hoffmann of Virginia Beach, Virginia; and one grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents.
