Obituary of Shirley Harrell

Shirley S. Harrell February 2,1949 - August 30, 2007 Shirley Sandra Harrell, 58, died on Thursday, August 30, 2007 in Monroe County, Michigan. Cremation has taken place under the care of Merkle Funeral Service. Private services will be held at a later date. She was born February 2, 1949 in Knox County, Tennessee the daughter of Jim and June (Monday) Harrell. Shirley worked for thirty years for General Motors Company. She retired in 2004 from the Willow Run Plant. Shirley was a member of the UAW. She had obtained an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts. She enjoyed poetry, singing, and she was an avid shopper and collector. She is survived by her children: Wendy (Kip) Bunch of Uniondale, IN, James (Darlynn) Norwood of Logansport, IN, and Lori (Mike) Haynes of Logansport, IN; stepmother: Ida Harrell; siblings: Earl (Shirley) Harrell of Kokomo, IN, James "Yogi" (Ruth) Harrell Jr. of Kokomo, Richard (Suzie) Harrell of Kentucky, Ronnie Harrell, Sue (Mike) Commerford and Carol (Bill) Lee both of Kokomo, and Billie Sunday of Monroe; seven grandchildren: Jessica, Katelyn, Raistlin, Ryan, Lyndsey, Amber, Jacob, and two dogs: Brownie and Sugar-Cinnamon. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother: Andrew Harrell, and a beloved dog: Belle. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Cure Autism Now or to the Monroe County Humane Society.
