Obituary of Michael Rudy

Michael John Rudy, Jr. March 21,1972 - August 29, 2007 Michael John Rudy, Jr., age 36, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 29, 2007. Friends may gather from 1:00-7:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 2, 2007, at the Merkle Funeral Home, 2442 North Monroe Street, Frenchtown Township (734) 384-5185. Funeral Services will follow the visitation at the funeral home at 7:00 p.m., with Father Stephen Rooney of St. Michael's Catholic Church officiating. Private entombment will take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Michael was born on March 21, 1971, in Oregon, Ohio, the son of Michael and Dorothy (Smith) Rudy. He married Nicole Meshriy on July 8, 2002, in Las Vegas, NV. For more than ten years Michael had worked as an engineer for the Ford Motor Company. A lifetime resident of Monroe, Michael was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church. He graduated from Jefferson High School, earned a Bachelor degree from the University of Toledo, and achieved his Masters degree in Engineering from Oakland University. While attending college he enjoyed playing rugby. Michael was a remarkable father to his children. He also loved physical activity including biking, boating, carpentry, and especially playing poker. He is survived by his wife, Nicole; his mother, Dorothy Rudy of Newport; 2 daughters, Sydney and Chesney; a sister, Kathy (Mike) Sander of Georgia; and a brother, Jimmy Rudy of Frenchtown Township; 2 nephews, Eric and Marcus Sander, and one niece, Katie Sander. He is also survived by his good friends Mark "Zeke" Cisco, Brian Francisco, and Jody Blyvise and his two Newfoundland dogs, Nanuck and Doko. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael, Sr. in November of 2001. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be sent to any National City Bank for The Wishes of the Family.
