Lucille Seymour, 85, died at 2:35pm, Monday, August 20, 2007 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law in LaSalle her loving, devoted children were by her side. She had been under the care of Mercy Memorial Hospice for the past nine days.
Friends may gather to support the family from 5-8pm, Wednesday and from 12-8pm, Thursday at the Merkle Funeral Home, 2442 North Monroe Street, Frenchtown Township (734) 384-5185. A funeral service to celebrate Lucille's life will be held at 11:00am on Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Roy Southerland officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.
She was born August 19, 2007 in Middlesboro, KY, the daughter of the Rev. Elias Johnson "E.J." and Nellie (Williams) Peters. On June 17, 1942 she married Edward Ardell Seymour in Middlesboro. Lucille retired in 1981 after working more than 20 years as a dietician for the Monroe Convalescent Center.
Since moving from Tennessee forty years ago with her family Lucille had been an active member of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church. She participated in the J.O.Y.S. and church choir. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and shopping.
She was a member of the Eastern Star's and Rebekah's.
She is survived by her daughter: Gwen Mollis and (Robert Boschert) of LaSalle a son Edward (Dala) Seymour Jr. of Drumwright, OK; a brother: Clyde (Margaret) Peters of Cumberland Gap, TN; a sister: Georgia (M.L.) Chambers of Maryville, TN; her close friend and sister-in-law: Ina Peters of Monroe; five grandchildren: Renea (Todd) Schmitz of Monroe, Tonya (Jim) Frazier of New Market, MD, Allyson (Brett Lundsford) of Drumwright, OK, Timothy (Priscilla) Seymour of Livermore, CA, and Teri (Russell) Hopkins of Lawton, OK; and six great grandchildren.
