Jimmie Lee Emery Sr.
July 18, 1945 - April 5, 2010
Jimmie Lee Emery was born in Herman, Tennessee on July 18, 1945. He was the son of the late Herbert Emery and the late Lula (Emerson) Lawson.
Jimmie married the former Paulette Kathryn Wood in LaSalle, Michigan on September 24, 1966. From this union the couple had four children and seven grandchildren. Jimmie worked as a laborer performing maintenance duties for more than thirty years. He had been employed by the Horizon Outlet Center the past few years.
Jimmie was a motorcycle enthusiast and he was a Harley man. He loved to watch "Dog the Bounty Hunter" and "Orange County Choppers", and was a big fan of professional wrestling. Jimmie loved his grandchildren and although he was an ordinary man by most standards he was extraordinary to his grandchildren who held his heart.
Jimmie Lee Emery Sr. age 64 of Monroe passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 5, 2010 in the Emergency Room of Mercy Memorial Hospital. In addition to his parents his passing was preceded by two sisters: Shirley Ann Emery and Brenda Sue Rader.
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife Paulette Kathryn Emery of Monroe; four children: Shirley Ann Emery of Monroe, Tina (Paul) Spencer of Monroe, Jimmie L. Emery Jr. of Monroe, and Christie (Daniel) Palmer of Erie; a sister: Barbara Baker of Monroe; a brother: Jack (Carol) Emery of Newport; seven grandchildren: Jimmie L. Emery II, Robert M. Emery, Chanelle Spencer, Paul Spencer Jr., Zachary Palmer, Logan Palmer, and Dakota Palmer.
Friends may gather from 2:00pm until 8:00pm; Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185 where a Celebration of His Life will be held at 7:00pm also on Wednesday. Cremation will follow through Southern Michigan Services in Livonia, Michigan
In lieu of flowers memorial donations are suggested to the Emery family.
