Robert Howard Carroll
August 9, 1946 - October 4, 2011
Robert Howard Carroll was born in Trenton, Michigan on August 9, 1946. He was one of two sons born from the union of the late Parker Carroll and the late Dorothy (Patterson) Carroll. He was a 1964 graduate of Airport High School.
Robert served his country proudly and honorably during Vietnam as a member of the United States Army. He married the former Cynthia Day.
Robert enjoyed going out to eat often, socializing with friends, and visiting local establishments. He was a friend to many and could always be counted on to lend a helping hand. Robert had helped many friends with the restoration of old cars over the years. He also enjoyed his private time and watching television.
For more than thirty years Robert worked for several different employers as a semi-truck driver. Most of his work revolved around the steel industry. He retired in 2008 at the age of 62.
Robert Howard Carroll age 65 of Carleton passed away at 2:15am, Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findley, Ohio from injuries suffered in an automobile accident. His passing was preceded by his mother in 2005 and his father in 1974.
To cherish his memory Robert leaves numerous friends including Jackie and Chuck Sayles of Carleton and his former spouse: Cynthia Presley and her husband: Leonard.
Cremation has taken place. Friends may gather from 6:00pm until 8:00pm Thursday, October 13, 2011 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. Veteran's honors will be presented at 8:00pm under the auspices of Monroe Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1138. Burial will take place at a later date at Ash Township Cemetery.
