Obituary of Douglas Logan

Please share a memory of Douglas to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Douglas Brett "Sheep Dog" Logan November 17, 1967 - December 28, 2015 Douglas Brett Logan was born in Bakersfield, California on November 17, 1967. He was the only child born from the union of Douglas Jasper and the late Lois Ann (Richardson) Logan. Douglas attended Monroe Schools and graduating from high school with the class of 1986. Douglas attended The Detroit Carpentry JATC Apprenticeship Program and earned his Journeyman Carpenter status on March 16, 2000. He married the love of his life the former Julie Brown on January 14, 2000 in Toledo, Ohio. Together the couple would raise their two children. Douglas was an excellent provider. For twenty-one years he was a proud union carpenter known as "Sheep Dog" who worked out of Local 687 in Detroit. Doug was an avid sports fan, watching ESPN each morning before starting his day. Doug played several sports throughout his life but his favorite was recreational softball. He was a pitcher and first baseman. He won several championships over the years with his dearest friends. Doug also loved music, none more than heavy metal. He enjoyed hundreds of concerts over the years. Although Doug loved sports and music, his family was most important of all to Doug. He cherished his wife, three children, and the companionship of his beloved feline: Cleo. Doug was always putting others first. His last act of kindness was completing a wish to donate his beautiful long hair to the organization "Children with Hairloss" on the day of his passing. Doug had many sayings, but his favorite was "Treat others as you want treated, not how they treat you." It is evident through his friendships that he not only spoke these words, but he lived by this his entire life. Douglas Brett Logan, age 48 of Monroe passed away at the Sisters Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Healthcare Center in Monroe at 6:07am on Monday, December 28, 2015. In addition to his mother, his passing was preceded by his grandparents.
