Obituary of Peter Romstadt

Peter was born in Toledo on May 20, 1942 the son of the late Richard and Elizabeth (McPartland) Romstadt. He attended Blessed Sacrament and Central Catholic High School graduating in 1960. Peter attended the University of Toledo, and honorably served in the United States Air Force stationed in Texas and Bermuda. He married the former, Carol Moniz on November 18, 1965 at Smith's Parish, Bermuda. The family moved to Toledo in 1966 and Peter was a dedicated Executive Vice President for Toledo Metal Fabricating retiring in 1982 after 16 years. Peter was active with his Catholic faith at St. Joseph Parish. He enjoyed the outdoors; boating and hunting. He loved the companionship of his canine friends. Peter, age 73, passed away on Friday, December 18, 2015. In addition to his parents, his passing was preceded by sisters: Winnie Foy and Lucy Dick. Survivors include his wife: Carol; sons: Douglas (Danielle) Romstadt and Michael (Lori) Romstadt; sister: Mary (Fred) Mills; brother: Joseph (Nancy) Romstadt; five grandchildren: Samantha, Mason, Emily, Madelyn and Nolan. Friends may gather from 10:00am until the Mass of the Resurrection at 10:30am on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at St. Joseph Church, 2214 Manhattan in Erie, Father David Cybulski officiating. A memorial luncheon will immediately follow. Arrangements have been entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service, Erie (734) 848-5185.
